Teachers will experience the high-quality English Medium Instruction training that you expect from Oxford EMI. The course is self-access so teachers can work at their own pace, in their own time towards their certificate.

Teachers can study on their phones, iPads and laptops wherever they wish.

The course is interdisciplinary and suitable for lecturers, academics of all subjects (STEM, Humanities, Business, Economics, EAP, etc).

The course is challenging, enjoyable and rewarding. It includes 4 Modules full of information, videos and exercises developed by the Oxford EMI training team. These modules 1-4  show university lecturers how to overcome the issues with teaching in English and how to make their lectures motivating and interesting. These materials are updated annually to reflect the latest thinking and best practice in EMI.

Participants need a B1 (CEFR) level or above to participate in this course and can repeat the videos and materials created by the Oxford EMI Team as many times as they want to. This course focuses on pedagogy and how to teach an international class using the language level that your teachers have.

When can we start?

Your institution orders the Institution Access Keys for all participants. Each participant can start the course at any point within a year and receive their certificate.

Co-Branding Partnerships

Oxford EMI invites institutions that share our commitment to internationalisation and the professional development of academic staff to co-brand the Oxford EMI online self-access course.

We work closely with interested institutions to find the right fit before embarking on rolling 2 to 5 year partnerships.

The advantages for partners are considerable:

  • Institutional prestige: Your logo appears on the online course materials and certificates, signalling your institution’s commitment to high-quality English-Medium Instruction.
  • Regional leadership: Establish your university as a recognised centre of expertise that other institutions turn to for leadership and training in EMI.
  • Scalable & flexible: Roll out the course across faculties or partner universities at your own pace. Integrate the course with your existing CPD workshops and programmes.
  • Minimal administration: We host the platform and handle all technical support. Your team simply onboards participants and tracks progress via monthly reports.

If you are interested in discussing co-branding partnerships for your institution, please get in touch via our Contact us page.
