Oxford EMI Association Summer School 2017

Each year we organise a summer school in Oxford. This summer school is for academics who have varying experience in the classroom and who teach, or are going to teach, through EMI.

Course date:

The summer school this year is from 30th July to 5th August 2017

The course itself will take place from Monday 31 July to Friday 4 August.

Times: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
On some days we may finish later if you are practising your teaching.

Course content:

During the course participants will:

Share practical teaching and lecturing skills

Explore the theory behind English Medium Instruction (EMI)

Practise teaching your academic subject through EMI.

We will adapt the course to you. We will ask you to bring an example of your own lecture materials (slides, text you use) with you so that we can work on them.

You should have an intermediate level in English to participate. You need to be able to understand but you do not have to speak perfect English.

Included:

  • EMI course and materials.
  • Oxford EMI Association Certificate.

Fees:

Tuition £1,100 (GB pounds) per person. 

Accommodation:

You can stay in college or in a hotel if you wish.

The cost of accommodation (6 nights) in a college is £580 for bed and breakfast. We can organise this for you.

If you prefer a hotel, please book it independently and book early!
