We invite Oxford University lecturers and faculty members to deliver specific lectures related to EMI. Our course participants enjoy being students for a while and participating in a lecture given by a teacher from Oxford University. 

The lectures are about specific subjects such as Business, Engineering, Physics, Materials,Technology in the Lecture Room, Deep Learning and so on. Our lecturers discuss the way they teach here in Oxford, how they manage in an international classroom and share their experiences of university teaching and learning.

Dr Mohammad Yaqub is a visiting research fellow at the institute of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford and a lecturer at the IT Learning Centre, IT Services, University of Oxford. Dr Yaqub is also the vice president of Engineering at Intelligent Ultrasound Ltd. Dr Yaqub is particularly interested in medical image analysis applications especially the development of intelligent machine learning algorithms to improve ultrasound imaging. Dr Steve New is Associate Professor in Operations Management, Said Business School and a Fellow of Hertford College, University of Oxford. Dr New is a leading authority on supply chain management. He is particularly interested in how individuals and organisations construct and interpret their environment and the systems in which they operate, how ethical and environmental issues are reflected in the supply chain, and in the impact of the internet and rise of B2B commerce. He is one of the leading scholars investigating the enigma of the Toyota Production System (TPS) and the West’s growing interest in the application of Japanese techniques to manufacturing.
Dr Maria Auger is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Materials.  Dr Auger's research background is mainly devoted to the preparation and processing of materials. In recent years she has been involved in the development of ODS Fe-Cr alloys for fusion applications. Her research interest lies in correlating the processing parameters with the mechanical properties, microstructure and nanostructure of the obtained materials and their evolution after irradiation. In July 2013 she joined the Materials for Fusion and Fission project as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in collaboration with the Atom Probe group.
Elisa Romero Rodríguez is a pedagogical consultant and teacher trainer. Her career has covered all levels of education – from early years to university – both in the public and private sectors. Before moving to the UK, where she currently works in Further Education, Elisa worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education in the Complutense University of Madrid. Elisa is also an experienced project manager and administrator, having worked for five years as Director of Education, Culture and International Co-operation at the San Fernando de Henares City Council in Spain.

Ben Beaumont is Head of TESOL Qualifications at Trinity College, London. He is the academic and operational lead for a suite of qualifications taken by approximately 3,000 teachers every year. Ben has worked in a variety of different educational sectors (primary, secondary, vocational education and higher education) and is keen to share his knowledge from across the sectors to help teachers and lecturers create effective learning environments. Ben’s research interests include the effects on lecturers of changing to English as a medium of instruction (EMI) and identifying the type of support universities can put in place to minimise difficulties during such a transition

Will Nash is Academic Director for Teacher Training and Development at the University of Sheffield ELT Centre in the UK where he also leads modules on the MA Applied Linguistics with TESOL.   He has over 20 years experience in Further and Higher Education, including in training and development for Universities in China, the EU, Russia and South Korea.  Will is a trainer for the University of Cambridge Language Assessment Certificate and Diploma in ELT, as well as HE member of the national Professional Development Group for English UK.  He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy with a MEd in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (dissertation on EMI), MA in Professional Development in Language Education (modules in CLIL and Teacher Education) and PGCE in Further, Higher and Adult Education.  Will has been training in ELT, EAP and EMI for over 10 years on courses in the UK and around the world, as well as delivering consultancy and conference talks internationally.  He interests are Teacher Education, Teaching in University Contexts and TESOL Methodology.
